Output Bundle – Movement, Portal & Thermal FX Suite

Description

Judge creative effects by what they let you do that nothing else can. The Output Bundle passes that test three times over. Movement’s tempo-locked modulation engine, Portal’s real-time granular resynthesis and Thermal’s three-stage distortion architecture each represent a mature, deeply implemented approach to their domain — not a feature list, but three instruments for transformation. At €39.99, the bundle is priced like a single utility and delivers a sound-design department.

## The architecture behind each processor

Movement’s strength is its modulation engine: multiple effect modules — tremolo, filtering, panning, drive — driven by a unified, DAW-synced modulation system, with sidechain input for externally triggered ducking. Portal’s granular engine operates in real time, deconstructing audio into grains and reassembling them with enough control to move from subtle spectral shimmer to total disintegration. Thermal chains three distortion stages with its own modulation system and extensive tone shaping, which is why it can do both transparent bus warmth and aggressive destruction convincingly — most distortion plugins only manage one end of that range.

## The chain is the instrument

Individually strong, the three are designed to work as a signal path. A practical session recipe: Movement establishes rhythmic motion synced to the track, Portal adds evolving granular texture on top of that motion, and Thermal provides harmonic density and final character. The unified macro controls across all three plugins make this performable — one automation lane can drive a multi-plugin transformation. For engineers, this means creative effects that behave like instruments under automation rather than set-and-forget inserts.

## Session practicalities

VST3, AU and AAX on macOS and Windows give complete DAW coverage. The factory presets are professionally built and genuinely useful as starting points. For mix engineers, the bundle’s value is in transitions, ear candy and problem-solving: a dull section revived by Movement, a static pad given life by Portal, a lifeless bus given edge by Thermal.
