ONRI Audio REISEI – Finish the Mix, Master the Record
From Mix Bus to Master in One Window
You know the drill: the mix is done, and now the “mastering chain” is six plugins scattered across the master bus, each with its own window, each hiding what the others are doing. ONRI Audio REISEI ends that. It’s a complete mastering processor — compressor, saturator, EQ, dynamic EQ, stereo imager, limiter — built around a single spectrum analyzer, all on one screen. The debut plugin from ONRI Audio, designed by a mastering engineer in Japan who built it for his own sessions. If you mix and master your own work, this is the fastest route from finished mix to finished record.
What It Is
REISEI is a one-screen mastering plugin (AU/VST3) that carries the whole final stage: compressor, saturator, EQ, DE-DYN dynamic EQ, WIDE stereo imaging, and a master limiter. The signal chain isn’t fixed — compressor, saturator, EQ and dynamic EQ can be reordered freely, so you can try saturation before compression or EQ after the limiter without rebuilding anything. For mix engineers who master as the last step of the same session, that flexibility means the master bus stays fluid right up to delivery.
See It, Grab It, Fix It
The workflow breakthrough is simple: the spectrum analyzer is the control surface. Every band, node and grip lives on the curve itself — you reach in and shape what you see. The muddy buildup at 250 Hz isn’t a parameter somewhere, it’s a node you drag down. The stereo image isn’t a separate plugin’s page, it’s a grip on the display. When you’re in the final hour of a mix and your ears are tired, removing the translation between “what I see” and “what I turn” keeps decisions fast and confident. One screen, no tab-switching, no losing your place.
PARTIAL EQ: Fix What Moves
Mixes are full of resonances that won’t sit still — a vocal harshness that follows the melody, a room tone that rings on certain notes, a bass harmonic that jumps out in the chorus. PARTIAL EQ was built for exactly this. Using additive resynthesis, it locks onto a specific harmonic and follows it as the pitch moves, then lets you lift it, cut it, or flip it into anti-phase to cancel it outright. Strictly linear, no added distortion. It’s the difference between broadly dulling a vocal to tame one harsh note and surgically removing the harshness while the vocal stays bright.
Loudness Without the Lies
The UNITY control auto-matches your output level to your input, so every bypass comparison is honest — essential when you’re deciding whether the master is actually better or just louder. Metering follows ITU-R BS.1770-4 (integrated, short-term and momentary loudness, LRA, true peak, PLR) with streaming loudness targets and an APPLY TARGET utility, so hitting Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube specs is a one-click job. The saturator offers 15 models in five groups with even/odd harmonic weighting and a THD readout with peak hold — glue and warmth with the numbers to back up your choices.
Key Features & Benefits
– Complete mastering chain in one plugin: compressor, saturator, EQ, dynamic EQ, stereo imager, limiter
– Single-screen interface — the whole master bus visible at once
– Direct-on-spectrum editing: grab bands, nodes and grips on the curve itself
– PARTIAL EQ tracks moving harmonics and cancels them with anti-phase precision
– Freely reorderable processing chain adapts to every mix
– UNITY matched-loudness A/B so you trust your ears, not the volume jump
– Broadcast-standard metering with streaming targets and APPLY TARGET
– 15 saturation models, EV/OD harmonic weighting, THD readout with peak hold
Who It’s For
Mix engineers who master their own projects; producers delivering finished records from the studio; post-production mixers preparing broadcast and streaming deliverables; Mac-based creators who want the mix-to-master transition to happen in one window instead of six.
System Requirements
Important: REISEI needs macOS 14.0 or later and runs on Apple Silicon Macs only (M1 and later). Intel Macs are not supported, and there is no Windows version at this time (a Windows release is planned). Formats: AU and VST3. One-time license with 3 activations; a 14-day free trial is available from the developer.
