Description
Virtual analog lives or dies on behavior, not waveforms. Roland’s ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior) modeling recreates analog circuitry at the component level — the saturation, interaction and drift that make hardware musical — and the SYSTEM-8 & SYSTEM-1 Bundle delivers two instruments built on it. At €39.99 for the pair, it is the most affordable way to get circuit-modeled Roland sound into a session.
SYSTEM-8: architecture for sound designers
Three oscillators feed a signal path with a comprehensive modulation matrix — the kind of routing depth that turns a synth into an instrument you program rather than preset-browse. Chord memory, unison stacking, an arpeggiator and a step sequencer make it equally at home writing parts and generating them. Plug-Out capability extends the architecture with Roland’s classic synth models, so the instrument’s range compounds over time instead of dating.
For session work, the SYSTEM-8’s strength is range: basses with genuine weight, pads that evolve, leads that cut — all with the nonlinear response that separates modeled analog from static digital oscillators.
SYSTEM-1: built for impact
The SYSTEM-1 is voiced for immediacy: four oscillators including a dedicated sub-oscillator and noise source, so low end and aggression are available from the first patch. The SCATTER function provides real-time sound mangling for transitions and performance — a control that earns its place in live sets and arrangement builds alike. Separate filter and amp envelopes, a movement-oriented LFO, and integrated delay and reverb keep patches self-sufficient.
Integration and authorization
Both plugins ship in VST3, AU and AAX for macOS and Windows, authorized via Roland Cloud with offline authorization supported. They instantiate in Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, Ableton Live and every other professional host, with the stability expected of instruments designed for stage as well as studio.
Both instruments reward MIDI controller mapping — every performance control can be assigned to hardware knobs for tactile sound design and live tweaking. The preset libraries are deep enough to serve as starting points for any genre, from classic techno stabs to modern cinematic pads. And because both plugins are efficient, running the SYSTEM-8 and SYSTEM-1 together in one project — layered basses, sequenced patterns against evolving pads — is entirely practical on a modern machine.
Why engineers buy from MixMasterPlugins
MixMasterPlugins serves people who evaluate tools on sessions, not screenshots. Every customer receives their own individual license key, with a secure download link sent to your email, and support from people who mix. Two circuit-modeled Roland synths for €39.99 needs no further justification — browse the shop for more, or head to the Synth Plugins category for the rest of the instrument rack.
Frequently asked questions
What is included in the bundle?
The complete SYSTEM-8 plugin (3 oscillators, modulation matrix, Plug-Out, arpeggiator, step sequencer) and the complete SYSTEM-1 plugin (4 oscillators, sub-osc, SCATTER, built-in effects).
How does ACB differ from standard virtual analog?
It models the actual analog circuit components and their interactions, capturing saturation and drift behavior that approximations miss.
Can I authorize offline?
Yes — Roland Cloud supports both online and offline authorization.
Which plugin formats are provided?
VST3, AU and AAX, on macOS and Windows.
How quickly do I get it?
A secure download link is emailed to you, typically within minutes of checkout.
