Description
The ’58 Reissue, Captured Properly
Ample Guitar LP 4.1 is built around a Gibson Les Paul 1958 Reissue, sampled individually at every string and fret — the method that makes position and fingering part of the tone. Version 4 adds a complete fingerstyle library recorded on a 1959 Reissue, bringing the set to four libraries: Neck, Bridge, Both and Fingerstyle, 11 GB in total.
Playability First
Ten articulations — Sustain, Palm Mute, Natural Harmonic, Hammer On & Pull Off, Legato Slide, Slide In, Slide Out, Pop, Pinch Harmonic and Slide Guitar — are served by polyphonic legato with a Slide Smoother, drop tuning down to D1 and authentic left-hand noises. The result is a virtual guitar that survives exposed parts: solos, picked patterns and quiet fingerstyle, not just power-chord walls.
Riffer 4 and Friends
Riffer 4, Ample Sound’s MIDI editor for plucked strings, introduces Strum Note — chord sub-notes edited as a single object — plus real-time switching between Piano Roll and Guitar Tab, a String Visualisation system that enforces playable fingering automatically, multi-lane CC editing and hundreds of built-in riffs. The Strummer handles rhythm work with chord detection and Strum SEQ, and Tab Reader 4 imports Guitar Pro files from GP3 to GP8, full tracks with articulations and fingering preserved.
A Rig Inside the Plugin
The amp simulator offers 7 classic heads — Metal Double, Metal Treble, Lead 800, Jazz 120, 65 Twang, 65 Delight, 57 Delight — with 8 cabinets captured using 8 microphones each. An 8-band EQ, compressor, delay and convolution reverb complete the chain.
